Artemisa is a city in Cuba, located about 60 miles from the capital Havana. It is the capital of Artemisa Province, founded in 1818, and is now known as the “Garden of Cuba”. The area is famous for its fertile red soil, earning it the nickname “Red Village”, suitable for the cultivation of various crops such as bananas, potatoes, and sugarcane.

The Hotel Campoamor in Artemisa has played a significant role since its completion in 1911, attracting many prominent figures including writers like Hemingway and Gabriela Mistral. Due to the production of sugarcane, there is also a remaining sugar mill that has become a landmark in the city.
