Radviliškis is located in the northern part of Lithuania, 21 kilometers from Šiauliai, and is under the jurisdiction of Klaipėda County. This city was founded in the 15th century and has been an important local administrative center since 1950, as well as a significant transportation hub.
Radviliškis is one of the well-known cities in Lithuania, famous for its ancient railways, abundant reed beds, and numerous birds. The prominent Radviliškis stone windmill, built in the early 20th century to commemorate the 1919 victory of the German-Russian armed forces, is one of the popular attractions in the area. The wooden bell tower of the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary in the Radviliškis parish is a historically significant architectural monument created in 1878, which has been rebuilt twice after facing fires, with the latest reconstruction in 1984. Its uniqueness lies in its design commemorating the suffering of the Lithuanian people in a “sorrowful and suffering manner”. Radviliškis also boasts vast meadows, tranquil cows and sheep, delicious turkeys, sweet wild strawberries, lush trees, and numerous churches of all sizes scattered throughout the area, attracting visitors from around the world.
