Isfahan is a city in central Iran. It is located in the Kashan oasis at the eastern foot of the Zagros Mountains, covering an area of 50 square kilometers and sitting at an altitude of 994 meters. The city has a population of 110,000. It is a major ceramic production center in Iran and is also famous for carpet production. Additionally, Kashan is home to cotton textile factories, as well as handicrafts such as embroidery, copperware, and spice manufacturing. The oasis produces wheat, figs, and melons.
