Indawgyi Lake Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the town of Mohan in Kachin State, northern Myanmar. Established in 1999, it surrounds the Indawgyi Lake and covers an area of approximately 299.32 square miles, playing a significant role in the conservation of wildlife and birds in the region.

The sanctuary is home to either rare animals or endangered bird species, and its establishment has contributed to their survival and reproduction. It houses a variety of waterfowl, migratory birds, and forest-dwelling birds, with hundreds of species including over 120 forest-dwelling bird species and more than 10 endangered bird species. As a result, it has become a well-known bird-watching destination in Myanmar, loved by bird enthusiasts and photographers. In January each year, visitors can observe birds such as greylag geese, black bitterns, and purple swamphens here, singing freely and carefree.

The wildlife in the sanctuary includes a diverse range of species, such as jaguars, golden cats, softshell turtles, sun bears, Indian bisons, serows, Himalayan serows, and bald eagles.
