The Crazy House, often described as the “Fairy Tale House,” is located in Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province, Vietnam. It is a highly unusual guesthouse designed by a Vietnamese female architect, completed in 1990 and opened to visitors from around the world. Due to its unique and distinctive design, it has attracted worldwide attention and is renowned as one of the most magical buildings in the world.
The Crazy House has been named one of the world’s ten most bizarre buildings by People’s Daily, and has also been featured in many travel guides. The overall design of the Crazy House resembles a large tree with numerous branches and sculptures of various natural forms, creating a scene straight out of a fairy tale. The whimsical and diverse tree houses, resembling the dwellings of witches or castles, give the impression of entering a surreal world. During the day, the Crazy House looks quite eccentric; one can only wonder if the guests staying inside at night feel a hint of terror. Not only does the exterior of the Crazy House appear bizarre, but the interior is also winding and mysterious, evoking a sense of fantasy. Visitors can enter the house through stairs that appear and disappear, twist and turn, and rise and fall throughout.
Each room in the Crazy House is uniquely designed; from the location, orientation, height, to shape, everything is different. Additionally, the decorations, furnishings, and furniture inside are all one-of-a-kind, reminiscent of scenes that only exist in fairy tales.
