The mysterious natural landscapes of the southern region, with colorful soil, have created natural scenery with peculiar shapes despite not having high mountains. Apart from the culturally rich northern region, Mauritius also boasts mysterious natural landscapes in the south, with the Seven Colored Earth being a favorite among tourists. In a lush forest, suddenly appears a colorful land, which is truly astonishing. Being of volcanic origin, Mauritius has created natural landscapes with peculiar shapes despite not having high mountains. The Seven Colored Earth in Chamarel was discovered by a Frenchman who planted sugarcane fields here. Among the sugarcane fields, this particular land stood out as barren. After geologists conducted research and exploration, this magical and magnificent Seven Colored Earth emerged for the world to see. According to studies, the colorful hues of the soil are mainly due to uneven cooling of the molten volcanic rock, combined with various metallic components in the crystals and volcanic ash in the soil. When exposed to sunlight, the soil shows peculiar colors like yellow, ochre, purple, red, and orange. Geologists once conducted an experiment by mixing different colored soils into a test tube, and after a few days, these soils automatically separated, displaying a miraculous phenomenon.
